Petite Sirah - Frenchmen's Creek '14
Acronyms come easy when describing Petite. This one is best described as a gentle giant. Imposing body and color density bely its underlying bold softness with luscious fruit of ripe black cherry, plums, cocoa powder and blackberry jam. Pairs with grilled meats and funky cheeses.
Petite Sirah is generally considered by winemakers as a difficult wine to make well. Harsh tannins tend to show themselves late in the process and challenging to remove. We have found a way to all but eliminate this element, thus allowing all the wonderful flavors to shine without interference. Our Frenchmen’s Creek vineyard once again blew us away!
